The Genealogy of Jesus Christ

Matthew 20:30-31

30 And behold, there were two blind men sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, “Lord, ^{▼▼Some manuscripts omit Lord} have mercy on us, ^eSon of David!” 31 The crowd ^frebuked them, telling them to be silent, but they cried out all the more, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

Matthew 22:42-45

42 saying, “What do you think about ^gthe Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, ^h“The son of David.” 43 He said to them, “How is it then that David, ⁱin the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying,

44 ^j“‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at my right hand,
until I put your enemies under your feet”’?
45 If then David calls him Lord, ^khow is he his son?”

Luke 18:38-39

38 And he cried out, “Jesus, ^lSon of David, have mercy on me!” 39 And those who were in front ^mrebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

John 7:41-42

41 Others said, “This is ⁿthe Christ.” But some said, ^o“Is the Christ to come from Galilee? 42 Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes ^pfrom the offspring of David, and comes ^qfrom Bethlehem, the village ^rwhere David was?”
